WHO ARE WE?

THE FIRM

JYH International Architects is an office of Architecture, Interior, Engineering and Design, with the objective of accomplishing the client’s vision of unique spaces with a maximum comfort. We have been involved in a multitude of projects in different regions such as the Middle East and Europe. As such, our work varies from residential, retail, educational, resorts, commercial and urban planing. The projects are from all scales, where the high end finishing is always noticeable; we manage projects like exhibition stands, to the complete planning of a land. 

Our vision evolves around advanced technologies with the idea of space adapting to the need. We focus on exploring the effect of this technology in our daily life and how it helps shape the architecture we live in. By doing so, we can simulate the feelings intended in the space, and create comfort or any other desired emotion. Hence the choice of the architecture reflects directly on one’s lifestyle.

THE FOUNDERS

JYH was founded by Architects Joy Alexandre Harb & Yanna Haddad, both having initiated their studies at the Lebanese American University in Lebanon. After graduating with Honors, their quest to get more involved with advanced architecture led them to Barcelona, the capital of Architecture & Design.  It is at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) that they received their Master’s degree alongside all the passion for innovation-oriented architecture, and enough imagination to shape the future of cities.

On a greater scale, they have been involved in large projects including Hotels, governmental building and airports during their previous work experience in one of the leading international companies, while being part of the design team. While on a social level, they worked on planning the design of a city.

THE TEAM

The team members of JYH-IA come from different parts of the world, specifically Lebanon, Japan, Czech Republic and Spain. The diverse cultures allow us to have complementary views and perspectives when it comes to each project.

While each of us has general knowledge regarding architecture fundamentals, we individually excel in certain software which leaves our personal touch in the project. The ability to cope with challenging tasks is reflected in our daily office life, where our professional skills are put to work in order to achieve the best possible outcome to satisfy the client.

HOW DO WE WORK?

Our ideas/work emerge/begin from a carefully thought thru analysis, elaborated into conceptualization, programming, then detailed drawings. As such, the process consists of different phases in which each is agreed upon by the client before proceeding to the next one.  The final work is represented in the booklet containing 2D detailed architectural drawings, with the mechanical, electrical and structural study, as well as the 3D perspectives which reflect the final result of construction.

ARCHITECTURE

Our firm holds core values of using the depth of past architects, learning to combine different perspectives in a compatible, non-oppositional way, and applying our work to a world whose needs are constantly changing. The ability of our firm to work with international clientele has proven the effectiveness of our adaptability and flexibility, while maintaining our core values.

INTERIOR

While architecture triggers the first impression and feeling in us, it is the interior space that creates a lasting feeling of amazement and comfort.  In this phase it is even more crucial to understand and get to know better our client, to understand which type of environment he wants, depending on the function of the space. 

ENGINEERING

The engineering team takes care of the mechanical, electrical and structural details.

They apply their scientific knowledge to the daily practical problems while designing, building and using the different machine and structures to satisfy all the space’s needs.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

The graphics department takes care of presenting beautifully the work done by their colleagues. As well as often creating the corporate’s identity starting from a logo. 

They possess the skill of combining the drawings, text and pictures in a striking way to please the client and bring out the best of the project.

The visual communication and problem solving happens through the choice of typography, photography and illustration. It is the final and a vital phase of the process in which the ideas are conveyed to the audience and produce a specific effect in each person.

WHERE ARE WE?

While our team is spread around the world, the main office is located in Portemilio Resort and in Mansourieh in Lebanon. Lebanon’s location on the Mediterranean Sea facilitated its rich history and shaped a cultural identity of religious and ethnic diversity.
